The Heart Lanzarote 2025 festival closed its fourth edition this weekend with great success in terms of attendance and a notable influx of resident and visiting public. For two days, more than twenty shows filled the avenue and the Urban Park of Playa Honda with art, humor, and emotion, consolidating the event as a benchmark in the contemporary performing arts of the Canary Islands.

The recently inaugurated Parque Urbano was the epicenter of Friday's activities, with the start of the festival and the educational initiative Pum Pum Heart, which brought together schoolchildren and seniors from the municipality in a morning of creativity and community. The day was completed with performances by Fràgil (María Andrés), Jirafas de colores (Bolina Títeres), A la fresca (Cía. Anna Confetti), Kintsugi (Iron Skulls Co), Fisura (Murmuyo), La magia de soñar (Raúl Magic) and Glowdrums (Brincadeira), marking a vibrant start to the weekend.

Saturday of Workshops, Humor, and Sustainability

On Saturday, the public enjoyed a diverse and participatory program that brought art closer to people of all ages. The day began with the creative workshop "Lettering for the Soul," by Valentina's Words, in which words were transformed into art through calligraphy and personal expression. The artist Cristina Camacho then introduced the public to the Japanese printing technique Gyotaku, a proposal on biodiversity that invited them to observe nature with new eyes.

The morning continued with "Chinijos en Calma" (Kids in Calm), a family yoga and crafts experience led by Malena García, which combined movement, play, and breathing in an atmosphere of shared well-being. Finally, storyteller Vicky Dos Santos and Aarón Márquez offered "Barquitos de cuentos" (Story Boats), a tender storytelling session that awakened the imagination of the little ones and put a poetic finishing touch to the morning of workshops.

La Mecánica's physical and visual theater with Water Falls emphasized the value of water, while Murmuyo's traveling show Ami-Go! once again made the audience its best accomplice. The lineup was completed by Gonzalo Santamaría's The Power of the 80's, Adri Torrijos' Mr. Tie, and De tal palo's Fisgoneo, which mixed humor and acrobatics.

A sustainable and accessible cultural model

True to its philosophy, Heart once again demonstrated that a sustainable cultural model is possible: all shows were held with zero emissions and were energy self-sufficient, thanks to the use of photovoltaic panels to power the generator's battery. In addition, the programming took place during daylight hours, favoring energy savings and neighborhood well-being.

Inclusion was also very present, both in the artistic content and in the sign language interpretation provided by Signalanz, and in citizen participation in the workshops.

Heart Lanzarote thus bids farewell to a memorable edition, with a loyal and enthusiastic audience that has once again demonstrated that art has the capacity to make all hearts beat together. And, furthermore, it does so by announcing the date for next year: October 16 and 17, 2026.
