Haría to celebrate a San Juan night full of tradition and music

Haría is preparing to celebrate the festivities in honor of San Juan Bautista, patron saint of the municipality, with a series of traditional and cultural activities, which will take place next Sunday, June 23. The mayor of Haría, Alfredo Villalba, highlights the importance of this date for the community and adds that "San Juan is a very special moment for Haría, where we celebrate our identity and traditions.”

The day will begin at 8:30 p.m. with the Haría Award ceremony in the Plaza de Haría, where the award will be presented to Vladimir Ramos Afonso, for his contribution to the sport of the municipality and for his extraordinary versatility as a player and as a coach in the Haría Club de Fútbol. The awarding of this distinction has been unanimously agreed upon in the plenary session of the municipality.

Taking advantage of the event, the town hall will also give recognition to the youth team of the Unión Norte Wrestling Club, as well as to the cadet team of the Haría Club de Fútbol and the women's team of the Haría La Vuelta Arriba Basketball Club. In addition, this event will be enlivened by the musical performance of the renowned timplista Domingo Rodríguez El Colorao, accompanied on guitar by Adrián Niz, and the soloists Manuel Estupiñán and Fabiola Hernández.

Starting at 11:00 p.m., the traditional Night of Fire will begin on the grounds next to the Plaza de Haría, with the emblematic Burning of Facundo. Prior to this, the residents of Haría always fulfill the tradition of taking care of and walking Don Facundo throughout the week of the festivities through different emblematic points of the town before his burning. On the other hand, the Devils of Haría are in charge of lighting the fire and accompanying this event with the Dance of Fire, followed by a fireworks display that will illuminate the town.

To end the festivities, the verbena will be held in the Plaza de Haría, with the orchestras Mambo Latino and La Mecánica by Tamarindos, thus completing a night of music and fun for all attendees.
