The Haría City Council organizes the fifth edition of the Harionetas Puppet Festival, which will take place from October 8 to 20 in different spaces of the municipality. This event, already consolidated as a cultural reference in Lanzarote, has the support of the Canary Islands Institute of Cultural Development of the Government of the Canary Islands, within the MARES program, and the Department of Culture of the Cabildo of Lanzarote.
The first deputy mayor and Councilor for Culture, Evelia García, emphasizes that "this festival has grown over the years, becoming a fundamental part of the cultural offer of the municipality." "We want Haría to continue to be a point of reference in the promotion of the performing arts and, in particular, puppet theater, which is an art form with the capacity to entertain and educate all ages," she concludes.
For her part, the Councilor for Youth of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Aroa Revelo, highlights the positive impact of the festival on the island. "This activity is a clear example of how institutions can work together to offer quality events that strengthen the cultural fabric and foster creativity and imagination, especially in the youngest".
The festival will be divided into two parts. On the one hand, educational sessions will be held between October 8 and 17, in which they will move to the schools and institute of the municipality to impart training workshops on the basic manipulation of puppets. The objective is to bring this art closer to young people, fostering their creativity and manual skills.
On the other hand, the artistic program will be held in the La Tegala theater hall and in the El Aljibe exhibition hall. It will be from October 13. In these scenarios, high-quality shows will be presented that will allow the public to enjoy the various forms of artistic expression offered by puppet theater.
