La Graciosa has received recognition at the 40th edition of the Pinolere Craft Fair, held from September 4 to 7 in the town of La Orotava, Tenerife, and organized by the Pinolere Cultural Association. This event aimed to honor the identity, culture, and traditions of La Graciosa. The Teguise City Council sent a press release this Monday to congratulate the eighth island.

The Pinolere Fair is one of the most emblematic cultural and craft events in the Canary Islands, whose objective is to promote, preserve, and give visibility to the traditional trades of the archipelago.

In this edition, La Graciosa had a prominent role with several stands dedicated to its artisanal heritage, including that of the traditional esparto grass plait, with women from La Graciosa showing their work live, and that of Las Chuchis, dedicated to the emblematic clothing of the island, made by hand and representative of its cultural identity.

The recognition of La Graciosa was granted by the Pinolere Cultural Association, and the official act was attended by the Councilor of Crafts of the Cabildo of Tenerife, Efraín Medina, and the Councilor of the City Council of La Orotava, Yurena Luis, among others, who valued the effort of the artisans and the relevance of keeping traditions alive.

The Councilor of Culture of the Teguise City Council, Andoni Machín, attended in institutional representation and stated "the importance of this type of recognition to make visible the talent and dedication of our artisans, and to continue positioning La Graciosa as a reference within the cultural and heritage panorama of the archipelago."

For her part, the mayor of Teguise, Olivia Duque, highlighted that "the presence and recognition of the eighth island at the Pinolere Fair is a source of pride for the entire municipality and is an opportunity to continue showing the value of our traditions and the unique identity of the people of La Graciosa."

The participation of La Graciosa in this cultural space not only reinforces its role in the conservation of traditional trades but also contributes to the strengthening of its cultural and social fabric, bringing the intangible value of its heritage closer to the public. The Teguise City Council reiterates its congratulations to all the artisans and cultural agents of La Graciosa for their dedication and commitment, while renewing institutional support to continue promoting their cultural, economic, and social development.
