The vice-president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, María Jesús Tovar, the Minister of Art, Culture and Tourism Centers, Ángel Vázquez, and Goyo Jiménez, have presented ‘Guía para conocer América (sin haber ido)’ (Guide to knowing America (without having been there)), the comedian from Melilla's latest foray into the literary universe, during a more than fun press conference held this morning at the Islote de Fermina.

It was Tovar, also born in Melilla, who welcomed Jiménez and thanked her for choosing the island to present her book: "We are very happy and proud," she celebrated. The counselor of the Centers, meanwhile, expressed himself "deeply grateful for having chosen Lanzarote and the Tourist Centers to present a book that becomes a manual explaining some of the deepest secrets of the deepest United States; of that neon culture that attracts and bewilders us at the same time."Vázquez explained that the 'Guide to Knowing America (Without Having Been There)' reminds us that humor is also a way of understanding the world: it is a book that should be on the nightstands of those who want to end the day and surrender to the arms of Morpheus with a laugh."

The counselor and Jiménez showed their "chemistry." "She's a vitamin person," Vázquez pointed out, "her way of making humor; her ability to find the ideal gag at the right moment, her contagious vitality, and her fun approach to everyday life make her the kind of person worth having around because she brings positive energy."

The popular comedian, who confessed to being "half rabbit already," showed off his spontaneity in an intervention full of humor. He took time to go back to the origins of his relationship with an island "that made him relive" and to reveal his passion for the Jameos del Agua Auditorium, "the most wonderful place in the world, a place to be connected."

It also reveals the secrets of "an adventure of illustrations that emerged while preparing the three shows related to the United States. Guía para conocer América (sin haber ido) is an imaginary journey full of humor and irony to that Arcadia that has united us all."

Guía para conocer América (sin haber ido) is a 310-page book, with an initial print run of 5,000 copies, which will go on sale in the coming weeks in all bookstores in Spain. "We want the book to be alive; to add illustrations in future editions so that the reader can always discover something new," he explained.

During the presentation, the promotional video for this edition of the International Humor Festival, starring Goyo Jiménez himself, was also premiered (it can be viewed on the Festival's website: https://www.fihj.es/).Goyo Jiménez will perform this coming weekend at the Auditorio Jameos del Agua.
