The show La ropa vieja de Cuca, by Antonia San Juan and the also Canarian actress Jenifer Artiles, and the Canine Costume Contest culminated this Sunday with much humor the events programmed for the first weekend of the Arrecife Carnival by the Department of Festivals of the Lanzarote capital directed by the deputy mayor, Echedey Eugenio
The canine contest's winner was Noa, a Weimaraner pointer who sported the costume ‘Adventure under the sea of Lanzarote’. The second prize went to the chihuahua Speedy who wore the allegory ‘La romerita se va de Carnaval’ and the third to Katty with the costume ‘Cavemen’. Cyry, Channel, Romeo, Coco, Rayco, Rubio, and the Italian Gigi also competed, giving the contest an international character.
Presented by José Duarte and held at the Fairgrounds like the show by Antonia San Juan, the event was attended by the deputy mayor of Arrecife and councilor for Festivals, Echedey Eugenio, and by the councilor responsible for the Animal Welfare Area of the Lanzarote capital, Jacobo Lemes, who along with other members of the Corporation were in charge of presenting the awards
