Arrecife celebrated its first Day Carnival this past Saturday. After the Traditional Port Carnival of the capital, which brought together Los Buches, Los Diabletes, El Toro de Tiagua and the masked figures refajadas with sheets, this February 7 the island's population joined in with their colorful costumes.
The celebrations took place from 12:00 noon on three different stages, Plaza de Las Palmas, Avenida Vargas, and Pabla del Almacén
Through the different locations passed orchestras such as Rikabanda, Furia Joven, Mambo Latino, Banda Nueva and Maquinaria Band, in addition to DJs like Dj Javi Sánchez, Dj Falo and Dj Maxi. The celebration also featured the participation of Silvia and Andrea, Saoco, Pepe Benavente, among others.
