On the occasion of the feast of Our Lady of the Pillar, the residents of the town of El Cuchillo, in the municipality of Tinajo, gathered to pay homage to their Patron Saint on a day marked by devotion, neighborhood participation, and the deep roots of Lanzarote's popular traditions.

At 6:00 PM, the celebration of the Eucharist began, presided over by the parish priest of the municipality, Mr. Francisco José García Socorro, with the church's capacity completely filled. The ceremony was marked by significant participation from the parish community, who joined in the readings and liturgical chants, turning the celebration into a shared encounter of faith and community spirit.

After the Eucharist, the traditional procession through the town's streets began. Leading the procession was the Tinajo Music Band "Peña de San Roque," directed by Professor Orlando Morales Duarte, whose music accompanied the processional route.

Following the band was the image of Our Lady of the Pillar, which was displayed on a float adorned with flowers, further enhancing the beauty of the Virgin's sculpture. Alongside her, the celebrating priest, the mayor of Tinajo, Jesús Machín Duque, and numerous parishioners accompanied the procession with devotion and reverence, demonstrating the affection and veneration that the people of El Cuchillo profess for their Patron Saint.

The streets of El Cuchillo thus became the setting for a demonstration of faith and tradition, in which residents and visitors shared the significance of a festival that is part of the religious and cultural identity of this town in Tinajo.

Upon their return to the church, the celebration continued with a heartfelt musical offering by the Timbayba Musical Cultural Group of Tinajo, directed by Professor Clotildo Martín Duarte. The group, which was received with special affection by the attendees, offered the Virgin a selection of the best of Lanzarote's traditional folklore, with performances of seguidillas, folías, isas, and malagueñas.

The performance, which added the most popular and festive note to the day, was highly applauded by the large group of residents gathered around the church, who enjoyed melodies deeply rooted in the culture and traditions of the Canary Islands people.

Once the musical offering was concluded, the image of Our Lady of the Pillar, amid applause and cheers for the Virgin, crossed the church's portico, putting the final touch on a particularly emotional day.

In this way, El Cuchillo once again demonstrated its devotion to Our Lady of the Pillar, in a celebration where faith, music, and popular traditions went hand in hand, bringing together a community united around its Patron Saint and keeping alive the cultural and religious legacy of this corner of the municipality of Tinajo.
