Famara closes its festivities with its mythical water party

The northern town celebrated its water festival once again with a large influx of public to put an end to the festivity in honor of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart of Mary

The traditional water party puts the finishing touch to the festivities in honor of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart of Mary in Caleta de Famara. At 2:00 p.m., with the esplanade of the pier bursting with an impatient public eager to party, the celebration began after hearing the first chords of the orchestra Banda Nueva.

The engines began to expel water through the hoses while men, women, young people and children squeezed the last hours of the party to the maximum. Parties that began on August 25 with an extensive program with events for all ages, all of them being very crowded, highlighting this last one declared as the "Big Day", in honor of the Virgin Marinera.

The culmination with the expected water party, enlivened by the Lanzarote orchestra Banda Nueva, formed in 2007 at the Playa Blanca festivities, has gradually gained the admiration and affection of the public that follows them in each of the parties where they participate with a great variety of musical genres such as merengue, cumbias, salsa or reggaeton.

With the refreshing water party, Caleta de Famara brought its patron saint festivities to a close for another year.
