The members of the Rancho de Pascua Archinech de Tinajo traveled last weekend to the islands of Fuerteentura and Gran Canaria to participate in the traditional Ranchos Encounters for the Christmas holidays.
The first of the meetings took place on Friday at the Church of San Marcos in the town of Tiscamanita (Fuerteventura), where the Lanzaroteños shared the night with the members of the Ranchos de Ánimas from the Arbejales neighborhood of the Gran Canaria municipality of Teror and the host Rancho de Tiscamanita.
The church's capacity was filled with followers of these ancestral traditions that still endure thanks to the work carried out by the Ranchos de Ánimas and Pascua.
Performance in Valsequillo
On Saturday night, the Rancho de Pascua Archinech participated in the Ranchos Encounter held in the Church of San Miguel Arcángel in the Gran Canaria municipality of Valsequillo, sharing the night with three Ranchos de Ánimas from Gran Canaria.
The Rancho de la Aldea de San Nicolás opened the meeting, which, after the performances of the Ranchos de Valsequillo and Arbejales de Teror, closed with the Rancho de Pascua Archinech de Tinajo representing the island of Lanzarote, which left a very high impression. As in each of their performances, they took care of the smallest detail with very powerful and tuned voices, which were supported by a complete instrumental base formed by guitars, lutes and mandolin, without missing the most representative instruments such as tambourines, swords and castanets.
On the occasion of the Christmas holidays, the Rancho de Pascua Archinech has scheduled a busy schedule of performances in Lanzarote and an upcoming visit to the Tamaraceite neighborhood in Gran Canaria.
