Exposiciones El Almacén julio de 2025s

El Almacén hosts this summer two exhibition projects that highlight the artistic talent of Lanzarote. The Cabildo of Lanzarote, presided over by Oswaldo Betancort, organizes two exhibitions under the titles Art, Word and Thought and Atlas of Latent Gesture. Twenty artists from the island present works where they explore the languages of collage, drawing, installation and visual experimentation.

The exhibitions can be visited from this Friday, July 25 to September 27 in the Cubo, Aljibe and Salita rooms of the cultural center of reference in Arrecife.

In the words of Jesús Machín Tavío, Minister of Culture of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, “both exhibitions represent a valuable opportunity to make visible and put into dialogue the work of twenty creators from Lanzarote, reflecting the diversity and vitality of the art that is developed on the island. Projects like these consolidate El Almacén as a key space for the dissemination of critical thinking and contemporary creation linked to the territory”.

Art, Word and Thought brings together the works of twelve creators: María Arreb, Elena Betancor, Mayte Bethencourt, Rosalía Díe, Flora González, Guacimara Hernández, Isabelle Mathieu, Emma LLG, Macarena López Grimón, Raquel Plans, Adriana Sandec and Rosa Vera. The exhibition proposes a journey through the expressive possibilities of collage as a plastic, literary and conceptual medium, opening spaces for contemporary thought based on social, cultural, emotional and identity issues.

The second exhibition, Atlas of Latent Gesture, is the result of the workshop Traditional Drawing Techniques and Contemporary Artistic Practices taught in 2024 by the artist and curator David Machado. The works of Lía Gutiérrez, Rosalía Díe, Hacomar Diepa, Mabel F.H., Cristi Fuentes, Zula Gola, Chiara Panzika and Sara Rodríguez give shape to a collective installation that connects technical learning with creative development. Drawings, pictorial pieces and installations configure a dialogue between tradition and personal experimentation.
