The Haría City Council, through the Department of Celebrations and in collaboration with the Tabayesco Festival Commission, has prepared an extensive program to celebrate the festivities in honor of Our Lady of Candelaria, from January 19 to 25.
The mayor, Alfredo Villalba, encourages citizens to enjoy the activities organized for all ages. "We begin the year 2026 by remembering our traditions and our unity as a people," he highlightsFor his part, the Councilor for Sports, Alberto de León, explains that sports, leisure, and recreational activities are included, among which is the **XV edition of the Haría Popular Race**, for the benefit of Cáritas Lanzarote and with the collaboration of Paleo Punta Mujeres, which will conduct the warm-up.
Programming
The festivities in honor of Our Lady of Candelaria in Tabayesco will begin on Monday, January 19, with the town's decoration.
On Thursday, January 22, the draws and starts for the **mixed round championship** will take place at 5:00 PM. It will continue with the cinquillo championships at 6:00 PM, the Chinchón Championship at 7:00 PM, and the Envite and Truco at 7:30 PM.On Friday, January 23, at 5:00 PM, the draw and commencement of the men's and women's ball championships will take place. In this case, the teams will be formed by a raffle before the competition is held
Likewise, at 9:00 PM, the Candlelight Concert with clarinets and cello will take place in the Tabayesco Church.
On Saturday, January 24th, the XV Tabayesco Popular Race will take place to benefit Cáritas Lanzarote and with the collaboration of Paleo Punta Mujeres, who will lead the warm-up. The event will begin at 3:30 PM with registrations and will continue with the start of the children's category at 4:45 PM, the youth category at 5:00 PM, and the adult category at 5:15 PM.
Likewise, at 6:30 PM, the group **Los Conejeros** will perform, and at 8:00 PM, there will be an adult **Play Back** with the Altavista Senior Citizens Association.
On Sunday, January 25th, at 12:15 PM, the mass and procession will take place through the town's streets. Following that, at 2:00 PM, the Canarian Festival and a snack will be held, with musical performances by Son del Norte and Pa´l Porrón. Afterwards, at 5:00 PM, a dance workshop will be conducted by Lucía López's school, and once it concludes, attendees can enjoy a snack of chocolates and churros. The day will end with the celebration of the Surprise Bingo.
