The Arrecife Carnival will be held from February 6 to 18, with a wide variety of cultural events and in its traditional locations, after the last two years in Agramar. Among its programming is the performance of JK Bello, the Venezuelan Danny Ocean, King África, the viral phenomenon Nueva Línea, and a former member of the musical group Ráfaga.
February 6, 7, and 8: Carnival Kicks Off
The carnival festivities in the capital of Lanzarote will begin on February 6, at 8:00 PM, with a parade enlivened by the Batucada Villa Pipol, starting from the four corners to Parque Islas Carnarias. After this batucada, the opening speech will be delivered at Parque Islas Carnarias by the afilarmónica Los Tabletuos. On the same day, Duncan Dhu will perform, celebrating Mikel Erentxun's 40th anniversary, along with artist Alejo Stivel.
On February 7, the traditional Carnival will take place, featuring the Diabletes, Los Buches, the Toros de Tiagua, the music band, giants, and cabezudos, parading from the Muelle de la Pescadería to Plaza de Las Palmas.
That same day, the Day Carnival will be held, spread across Plaza de Las Palmas, Avenida Vargas, and El Almacén. All Day Carnival events will begin at 12:00 PM.
- Plaza de Las Palmas (from 12:00 PM to 12:00 AM): Silvia y Andrea, Saoco, Furia Joven, Mambo Latino, Rikabanda, Banda Nueva.
- Avenida Vargas (from 12:00 PM to 2:00 AM): Maquinaria Band, Rikabanda, Tio Matt, Tabaiba, DJ Javi Sánchez, DJ Falo.
- El Almacén (from 12:00 PM to 4:00 AM): Vocal Force, Parchita Colorá, Calle Obispo Groove, Pepe Benavente, Mambo Latino, Banda Nueva, DJ Maxi, Dj Nandy.
On the same Saturday, the XII Children's Murga Contest will take place, with the participation of the murgas Intoxicados, Chau Chau, Titiñecos, and Noveleros, the MT Dance school, and the children's musical group Jaleox. This event will be held at the Fairgrounds.
On Sunday, February 8, the Dog Costume Contest will take place, with a performance by the Daniel de la Rosa dance school at the Fairgrounds, at 6:00 PM. Afterwards, at 8:00 PM, there will be a tribute to Gloria Estefan at the same location.
First week
On Monday, February 9, between 9:00 PM and 10:30 PM, the Drag Queen Gala of the Arrecife Carnival will take place at the Fairgrounds, with a special performance by JKBello, the artist from Cadiz who participated in the Benidorm Fest 2025 competition as a candidate to represent Spain in Eurovision.
Also at the Fairgrounds, next Tuesday, February 10, between 9:00 PM and 12:00 AM, the XXXVII Adult Murga Contest will take place, with the participation of Las Inadaptadas, Los Desahuciados, Las Enraladas, Los Simplones, and Los Intoxicados, and a musical performance.
On Wednesday, February 11, at 10:00 AM, Carnival in Motion will take place, aimed at schools and held at the Fairgrounds. At 6:00 PM, the Masquerade Ball will be celebrated, with musical performances and snacks at the Senior Day Center in the capital. Finally, between 8:00 PM and 11:00 PM, there will be a parade exhibition with Los Guaracheros, Los Timanfeiros, Sur Caliente, and Los Cumbacheros at the Fairgrounds.
Queen and Child Queen Gala
On Thursday, February 12, between 8:00 PM and 9:00 PM, the election of the Carnival Queen and the Carnival Queen for Children of Arrecife will be held, featuring a performance by King África and the Tenerife artist Anaé. This event will also take place at the Fairgrounds.
On Friday, February 13, between 9:00 PM and 1:00 AM, the Final of the XXVII Adult Murga Contest will take place with a performance by the afilarmónica Los Tabletuos and Sergio Aranda, a former member of the group Ráfaga. On the same day, at El Almacén, there will be a street party between 10:00 PM and 3:00 AM, with performances by Son de la Loma, Los 600, and Grupo Bomba.
Second Weekend: Daytime Carnival and Youth Carnival
On Saturday, February 14, the parade of Comparsas and Batucadas will take place from Parque Islas Canarias to City Hall.
The Day Carnival celebrations will take place on three stages:
- Plaza Las Palmas (between 12:00 PM and 3:00 AM): Swing del Norte, Tremendo Son, La Mekanica, Dani Valiente y su orquesta, Banda Nueva, and Ritmo Bakano.
- Avenida Vargas (between 12:00 PM and 3:00 AM): Tio Matt, Ivan Cacú, Los Jarvac, Tabaiba, The Machine Boys, Dj Javi Sánchez, and DJ Falo.
- El Almacén (between 12:00 PM and 5:00 AM): Tremendo Son, Kilombo Improvisado, Los Lola, Swing del Norte, Mambo Latino, Banda Nueva, Dj Maxi, and Dj Nandy.
The Youth Carnival will take place at the Fairgrounds, between 6:00 PM and 2:00 AM, with performances by Danny Ocean, Lewis Potter, Daniela Garsal, and Dj Diego.
On Sunday, February 15, between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM, there will be a dance school exhibition at the Fairgrounds.
Monday and Tuesday of Carnival
On Monday, February 16, the traditional parade will take place through Old Arrecife, at 11:00 AM
Then, at 6:00 PM, there will be the Carnival Parade with the participation of floats, murgas, comparsas, batucadas, and masqueraders. This parade will start from the Red Cross and go to Agramar Avenue. The quiet zone will be between the Red Cross and the Sports City.
On Agramar Avenue, between 8:00 PM and 2:00 AM, there will be a musical space with the participating floats. At the same time, between 8:00 PM and 4:00 AM, there will be a street party in three different parts of the city:
- Plaza Las Palmas: Grupo Son y Más, Frente Banda Nueva, Vocal Force, and DJ German.
- Avenida Vargas: Tio Matt, Tabaiba, Dj Javi Sánchez, and Dj Falo.
- El Almacén: Morocho, Los Jarvac, Leyenda Joven, and DJ Nandy.
On **Carnival Tuesday**, between 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM, the Children's Costume Contest will take place. Following that, the Children's Carnavalito will be held at the Fairgrounds. At 5:00 PM, the traditional parade will take place through Charco de San Ginés, and between 7:00 PM and 8:30 PM, the concert by Mirial Cruz and Nueva Línea will be held at the Fairgrounds
The event will conclude on Wednesday, February 18, with the traditional Burial of the Sardine, departing from the Arrecife City Hall to El Reducto.
