Daniel Rodríguez Báez has been the winner of the III Quick Painting Contest “Ciudad de Arrecife” organized by the City Council through the Development and Events Area directed by Maciot Cabrera.
The event, which took place last Saturday on the central Calle Real, brought together creators who, for four hours, put all their talent at the service of art, this time, to reproduce images of different personalities from Lanzarote in a format smaller than 116 x 89 centimeters, which could not contain any allusion to commercial brands or be recreations of others that had been awarded in any other contest.
After the jury's deliberation, the three cash prizes that rewarded the best works went to Daniel Rodríguez Báez, who obtained a check for eight hundred euros, followed by Norlec Arague who was rewarded with five hundred euros and Athenea Rodríguez Pita who obtained the third award in the competition for which she obtained a reward of three hundred euros.
In this sense, it should be remembered that the awarded works will become the property of the Arrecife City Council, as well as the rights of exploitation, distribution, exhibition, dissemination, reproduction, transformation and public communication.
The Councilor for Development and Events of Arrecife, Maciot Cabrera, took stock of the three editions of the contest held during 2022, positively assessing the organization of the aforementioned activity, highlighting its importance “as a valuable way to promote artistic talent, creativity and exhibition, and to connect with other artists and art lovers.”
"It must be remembered that quick painting contests are events in which artists have a limited period of time to complete a work of art and their importance lies, on the one hand, in the opportunity it means for artists to show their talent and skill; and on the other, because they attract many spectators and allow artists to exhibit their works to a wider public," the City Council points out.
Finally, the Consistory indicates that "the activity has been absolutely respectful with the environment in which it has been developed since each participant was provided with all the necessary material for the development of their works, each of them being responsible for collecting any waste generated during the activity."
