The Teguise City Council presented this Thursday at the Castillo de Santa Bárbara, the new edition of the Teguise Villa Christmas Market, which will be held from December 5 to 8, from 10:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
The Christmas Market will feature 33 stalls, children's attractions such as a merry-go-round, carousel, and swing rides, in addition to the Christmas train and Santa's House at Spínola Palace.
The Deputy Mayor and Councillor for Tourism, Rita Hernández, highlighted that this edition seeks to strengthen spaces for coexistence and enhance the community spirit of the municipality. She pointed out that "Christmas is also about celebrating the simple things, celebrating together, and doing so from the Villa de Teguise, a place that once again becomes a meeting point for families, neighbours, and visitors." Hernández also underlined this year's main new feature, Santa Claus's visits, which "will add a special touch for families and the little ones."
From the Commerce department, councilwoman Nieves Martínez emphasized the importance of supporting the municipality's business community during these times. The councilwoman invited residents and visitors to enjoy the Market, stating that "with every purchase, you help maintain employment and life in our local businesses," and encouraged families from Teguise, La Graciosa, and those visiting the municipality "to stroll leisurely and participate in the event's offerings."
The mayor of Teguise, Olivia Duque, intervened to recognize the cross-cutting work that makes the Christmas program possible. Duque emphasized that "the most important thing is the team, because this Christmas could not be carried out without all the people who work every day to move Teguise forward." The mayoress added that "what makes Teguise and La Graciosa great are the people, the neighbors, the associations, and the groups that are always there, and that make this time a moment of sharing."
