The afternoon of last Tuesday, at 7:00 PM, the municipal tent of La Villa de Teguise once again became the stage for one of the most endearing events of the festivities in honor of Our Lady of Carmen. The traditional Children's Playback captivated the numerous audience thanks to the talent, spontaneity, and immense enthusiasm of its young protagonists, who offered a show full of music, color, and emotion.
The event featured a total of eighteen boys and girls, aged between five and fifteen, who, with admirable naturalness and contagious enthusiasm, delighted family, neighbors, and visitors with performances full of rhythm, charm, and confidence. Each performance was received with warm applause, turning the afternoon into a true celebration of childhood and community spirit.
Behind the brilliant result were weeks of intense work, dedication, and effort. Under the coordination of Victoria Padrón and Natalia Torres, the participants meticulously prepared each of their performances. Both instructors accompanied the young artists throughout the rehearsal process, providing them with support, confidence, and motivation so that each choreography and staging reflected the fruit of their perseverance and commitment. Thanks to this magnificent work, the young participants took the stage with confidence, offering a high-quality show that earned the admiration of the audience.
The musical repertoire stood out for its variety, dynamism, and current hits. On stage, some of the greatest hits by popular artists such as Karol G, Melody, Quevedo, and other well-known performers among the new generations came to life. The music, the dancing, the careful characterization, and the commitment of each participant kept the festive atmosphere alive throughout the evening, with an engaged audience that accompanied each performance with resounding applause and continuous expressions of affection.
Beyond the purely artistic aspect, the Children's Playback once again proved to be an activity of enormous educational and social value. Through music and stage expression, children develop personal skills, strengthen their self-esteem, and learn values as important as companionship, responsibility, effort, discipline, and teamwork. An experience that, in addition to fostering talent, contributes to strengthening the bonds of coexistence between families and the community as a whole.
As a culmination of this unforgettable day, all participants received well-deserved recognition for their effort and dedication. The mayor of the Teguise City Council, Olivia Duque, along with the councilor for Festivals and Culture, Andoni Machín, accompanied by representatives of the Festival Commission, presented a commemorative gift to each of the children, congratulating them on the magnificent quality of their performances and thanking them for the enthusiasm with which they had contributed to the success of this endearing festive event.
The organization also wanted to highlight the extraordinary involvement of the families, the constant support of the public, and the collaboration of all those who, in one way or another, made the celebration of this event possible, which has now become, over the years, one of the most anticipated, participatory, and emotional activities of the Carmen festivals.
Once again, the Children's Playback demonstrated that the festivals of La Villa de Teguise are much more than a program of recreational and religious events. They also constitute a privileged space for sowing hope among the new generations, discovering young talents, and strengthening the values that identify a people proud of their traditions, where culture, citizen participation, and coexistence continue to be the true protagonists.
Because when a town opens its stage to the smiles and creativity of its children, it not only celebrates its festivals but also builds the future of its traditions, keeping alive that spirit of unity that makes the Carmen festivals of La Villa de Teguise a benchmark of participation, joy, and hope for the entire community.
