The Colombian musical duo Cali y El Dandee will perform at the Carmen festivities in Playa Blanca next Saturday, July 20, starting at 9:00 p.m. The artists of the hit Yo te esperaré will bring the urban genre and pop to the Plaza del Carmen in the tourist town of Yaiza.

Playa Blanca begins this weekend the celebration of the festivities of the Virgen del Carmen with a program of activities that mixes folkloric, artistic, cultural and sports proposals until Sunday, July 21, closing day and maritime procession with the participation of fifty boats along the coast of the southern town and hundreds of people gathered on the small beach and the promenade, however, July 16 is the Big Day of Playa Blanca, a date where faithful and companions take the figure of the Virgin through the streets of the town to demonstrate their devotion to the patron saint of the town and sailors.

In the section of tributes, Playa Blanca will pay tribute with a wrestling match, on Friday, July 19 at 7:00 p.m., to the great bastion of the southern Canary Islands wrestling quarry, Tomás Quesada, and also has planned the Latin sailing regatta in posthumous tribute to the former councilor of Yaiza and person linked to sports and restoration, Miguel Ángel Cáceres 'Pope', on July 20 at 5:00 p.m., both events organized on the town's beach, although also on Monday, July 15, the festive program includes the meeting, tribute and exhibition 'History of Aquilino', at 7:30 p.m. in the La Aurora center.

On the same July 15 at night (10:00 p.m.) the rock band Salvapantallas and the original tribute to Hombres G take the stage in the square. On behalf of the Yaiza City Council, the mayor, Óscar Noda, and the Councilor for Festivities, Javier Camacho, not only encourage the population of the municipality and Lanzarote to enjoy these two weeks full of festive atmosphere in Playa Blanca, but also thank the collaboration of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, Tourist Centers and the town's festival committee.
