On Monday night, at 8:00 p.m., the mother church of San Ginés Obispo, in Arrecife, became the setting for an evening full of solemnity, emotion, and musical excellence on the occasion of the Sacred Concert, organized within the program of Holy Week events by the Music Band La Unión Musical de Lanzarote.

Under the direction of professor and master Pepe Artiles, the ensemble offered a repertoire of great artistic quality that delighted the attending public. Emblematic works such as: Amarguras, Tus Dolores son mis Penas, Rocío, La Madrugá or Crucifixión, among others, resonated with intensity in the temple, highlighting the talent of composers of the stature of Font de Anta, Manuel Ruiz Vidriet, Abel Moreno Gómez and Jaime Gutiérrez Domínguez.

Each performance was received with warm applause from a dedicated audience that followed every nuance of the concert with attention. The acoustics of the church of San Ginés, always generous, once again became an essential ally, enhancing the sound quality of the band and providing added value to the musical experience.

However, the night held a particularly significant moment that made it unforgettable. For the first time, the young music teacher Melba Artiles Medina presented herself to Lanzarote society as the band's director. Her intervention, marked by sensitivity and firmness, included the choice of two works by the composer Abel Moreno Gómez Soledad Franciscana and La Madrugá. At the end of her direction, the 33 members of the band, along with the audience present, gave her an ovation as prolonged as it was sincere, thus recognizing her brilliant debut. Without a doubt, a night that will remain forever etched in her memory.

The Music Band La Unión Musical de Lanzarote, currently composed of three members musicians among teachers and students, once again demonstrated its commitment, dedication, and passion in each of its performances, solidifying itself as one of the most outstanding groups in the island's musical scene.

When the concert seemed to be coming to an end, the audience, standing and visibly moved, demanded one last piece. In response, the band offered the composition by Paco Lola and Martín Salas Callejuela de la O, putting the golden touch to a memorable evening.

The event concluded with words of congratulation from the parish priest of San Ginés, Juan Carlos Medina, who wanted to personally acknowledge the magnificent performance of the musicians, sharing with them some final moments that culminated with the traditional family photo and the echo of the last applause.

Ultimately, a night of profound musical and human quality that reaffirms the value of sacred music as a vehicle of emotion, tradition, and encounter.
