Arrecife successfully celebrates the Fiesta de la Chola

The event featured musical performances by La Bomba, RikaBanda, La Regadera, Aseres, Nia, The Boys Machine, Nuevo Klan, and DJ Doctor and Maxi

The festivities of San Ginés Obispo, in honor of the patron saint of the capital of Lanzarote, had a family celebration this weekend that had an extraordinary participation. The return of the Fiesta de la Chola, organized by the Arrecife City Council, through the Department of Acts and Events, has filled the Parque de las Islas Canarias with a huge family atmosphere. Boys, young people and adults enjoyed the eleven consecutive hours of musical performances where attendees came with cholas and beach clothes.

This first weekend the capital of Lanzarote has experienced, within the extensive program for the Fiestas de San Ginés, a "powerful animation" and fun with the Fiesta de la Chola in the capital park by the sea. Precisely, when high temperatures were recorded, the Consistory, enabled a bathing area in the park, which has steps. From the Department of Acts and Events, led by Councilor Óscar López, there was a team of aquatic lifeguards to assist bathers, where numerous children, adolescents and adults attended.

The mayor of the city, who was present at this activity, has been "very satisfied with the great family atmosphere that was experienced yesterday in the Parque Islas Canarias". Yonathan de León participated in the awarding of prizes to the best allegorical hats to ‘go as a chola’ both in adults and children. A jury, formed by family voting, chose the best hats for their design, joy and originality. Along with the first mayor were present the vice president of the Cabildo, Jacobo Medina, the second deputy mayor of Arrecife, Roberto Herbón, and the councilors Óscar López, and Davinia Déniz, directly responsible for the Departments of Acts and Events, and Beaches and Environment, respectively.

The Fiesta de la Chola in its edition this year, in addition to the direct organization of the Department of Acts and Event, had the support and collaboration of the Tourism Area, led by Eli Merino, as a dynamization of the city. Next to the Parque Islas Canarias is located an offer of hospitality, tourism and leisure. With this festival, in addition to the programming of the Sangineles, the dynamization of the capital of Lanzarote is promoted with an event oriented to family enjoyment, has remarked the councilor Óscar López

For eleven consecutive hours, between 11 a.m. and 11 p.m., different musical groups performed that brought a very summery, cheerful, fresh and fun touch to this Fiesta de la Chola 2024.
