The Department of Citizen Participation of the Arrecife City Council, headed by Cathaysa Suárez, is collaborating in the celebration this Sunday the 7th of the Noche de Velitas (Night of Little Candles), organized by Acciones Unidas, one of Colombia's most emblematic traditions and which is celebrated in Arrecife as a special intercultural gathering that will unite families and people from different corners of the world in a single sentiment of good intentions.
In this regard, Cathaysa Suárez praises "the excellent work of integration and volunteering carried out by this group" and invites "women and men of Arrecife to come to Charco de San Ginés this Sunday to share and learn about this Christmas tradition full of symbolism," which will take place from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM and at 9:00 PM "a very special announcement will be made."
Under the slogan From the Pond to the Heart: We Celebrate the Light We Share, the event will promote the illumination of the Charco de San Ginés with hundreds of lit candles as a symbol of wishes, thanks, and good intentions for Christmas. The organization reminds participants of the importance of keeping the environment clean and invites those who participate to take care of this emblematic space in Arrecife, avoiding leaving wax residue and collecting any waste generated.
