Altavista Celebrates its 'Artistic Gala'

With much animation and participation, the residents of Altavista attend every day the events programmed on the occasion of the patron saint festivities in honor of San Antonio María Claret. Last Sunday night they met again in Los Luchadores Park to enjoy the Artistic Gala, where music was the main protagonist.

The gala began with the students of the MT Dance School of Dance who filled the stage, infecting the public with the staging inspired by the movie Grease, where the main protagonists John Travolta and Olivia Newton John imitated the young people who in the 50s used to wear their hair slicked back and combed back.

The students of the MT Dance School of Dance far exceeded the objectives set, receiving as a prize a great ovation of applause from the public.

The second part of the gala featured the performances of the three female winners of the IV Altavista Song Festival 2024. First, the winner of the third prize, Deseada Domínguez, performed with the song Ahora Quién, followed by the second winner Janet Rey with the song Hoy quiero confesar. Closing the section of performances, Inmaculada Sepúlveda, winner of the festival, performing the song Así no te amará jamás. The three performers were accompanied by the orchestra that the night before enlivened the festival.

The gala reached one of the most anticipated moments by the public that had traveled from different parts of the island to enjoy the performance of La Década Prodigiosa, beginning the first block of songs dedicated to the hits of the 60s and 70s.

As soon as it started, a large part of the public left their seats and jumped onto the park's dance floor and together with the four members of La Década, danced and hummed the songs to continue with a varied repertoire called Guateques, Discotecas y Verbenas, a night where the public enjoyed remembering past times.
