The Superior Court of Justice of the Canary Islands has ratified the latest measure approved last Wednesday by the Government of the Canary Islands, to limit family and social gatherings in the archipelago. This restriction was already in force but expired this weekend, so the Executive decided to agree to a one-month extension, previously requesting authorization from the Court.
Now, after the latest judicial setbacks that have overturned other measures, this one has received the green light from the TSJC. The decision implies that the current situation will be maintained, depending on the alert level of each island. At level 1, a maximum of 10 non-cohabiting people may meet, both in public and private spaces, at alert level 2 a maximum of 6 people and at levels 3 and 4 a maximum of four people.
On the other hand, the Court has responded this Friday to another very urgent request against the obligation to present a Covid certificate in establishments such as bars, restaurants, hotels and gyms, issuing a statement identical to the one it already issued on Thursday as a result of another appeal. In this way, that measure cannot be applied, pending the allegations that the Government plans to present.
