The Second Section of the Provincial Court of Las Palmas will judge next week in Lanzarote a teacher who worked for eight years in a school in Teguise and who had been accused of allegedly sexually abusing three minors whom he taught at the Alfonso Espínola Primary Education school. In this case the Prosecutor's Office requests acquittal.
This teacher taught French and Natural and Social Sciences, furthermore he was a tutor of one of the complainants.
Without going into further details, the Prosecutor's Office has requested in its brief that an acquittal sentence be issued against teacher W.P.R., by highlighting that during the investigation it has not been proven that the accused carried out "inappropriate" behavior towards his students or that guided by satisfying his sexual desires he had repeatedly touched the minors.
However, the Public Prosecutor's Office has highlighted that, despite not finding penal responsibility, there could be criminal responsibility and has pointed out the modifying circumstances of criminal responsibility, without specifying what they would be.
The trial is scheduled for next April 21.
