T., the neighbor attacked by the occupants of a motorcycle in a traffic fight in Los Geranios, has filed a complaint with the National Police against two men after suffering bruises in several parts of the body, pain in the leg and mouth, as well as damage to his vehicle.
The 65-year-old man has been the protagonist of messages of support on social networks after a video went viral in which he received a kick in the face from another younger man. The events date back to last Wednesday at noon when what began with a traffic discussion ended in an aggression.
The conflict began at the entrance of Puerto del Carmen, when the alleged aggressors were traveling on the motorcycle, skipping a continuous line, overtaking T.'s car, according to the victim's version. As in any traffic confrontation, T. used the horn as a reproach. At that moment, the two occupants of the motorcycle continued chasing the car to Arrecife.
At one point, when he wanted to leave the highway that connects Puerto del Carmen with Teguise, the passenger of the motorcycle threw a stone at T.'s vehicle. The stone managed to break the rear light of his car. After that, the defendants continued on their way and got off the motorcycle, at that moment the victim saw the defendants, stopped the car, went to his motorcycle and stood in front of them. At that moment, the aggressor began to hit him with the helmet.
Once the injured party got out of his vehicle, the driver of the motorcycle hit him several times with the helmet in the face. At one point during the aggression, T. tried to take a photo with his cell phone, but it was not possible. The aggressor tried to hit him with his foot in the face without success and repeated it a second time. This time, the cameras captured a strong kick in T.'s face, the sound of which can be heard in the recording and which led the man to fall to the ground, hitting his leg.
"I didn't know he was going to kick me, I wanted to take a picture and, suddenly, I saw his foot in my face," says T. in statements to La Voz. That moment of bewilderment can be seen in the video.
The aggression ended with T. going to the health center and then to the Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital in Lanzarote to have an X-ray and filing a complaint with the National Police.
As confirmed by sources close to the Local Police, who attended to T. at the time of the aggression, the defendant was driving without motorcycle insurance and it was a minor aggression, so he was not arrested.
