The Court of Violence against Children and Adolescents, Instruction number 3 of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, has launched a smartphone application in order to make it easier for adolescents to understand the functioning of a judicial body. This court has been operating as a national pilot experience since October 1, 2021.
With the commitment to provide support and resources to minors who have been victims of violence, the application has been created, designed to provide a clear and accessible understanding of how a court works.
This innovative tool seeks to familiarize adolescents between 13 and 17 years old with the Administration of Justice, by providing them with essential information and interactive resources to help them overcome a difficult and unusual moment such as testifying in court.
The application, developed by experts in law, psycho-pedagogy, psychology and video game development, aims to reduce anxiety, fear and secondary victimization that victims of violence under age may experience when facing a visit to a judicial building to make a statement.
Through a friendly and attractive interface (created by Cuicui Studios with the advice of professionals from the Court of Instruction number 3 of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria), users will travel through the eight islands and will be able to explore, learn and test their knowledge about the different aspects of a court, the professionals involved in the process, the spaces, the rights and obligations they have and the management of emotions.
The creating team estimates that, by providing information and resources in an accessible way, it is contributing to the protection and well-being of children and adolescents. The application is available for free download on the main mobile platforms: Google Play and App Store (Apple).
