The Provincial Court of Huelva has sentenced a man to seven years in prison after he was intercepted while attempting to board a speedboat bound for the Canary Islands with two butane gas cylinders with double bottoms in which he was hiding various quantities of different drugs.

The sentence, to which EFE has had access, considers him guilty of a crime against public health in its modality of substances that cause and do not cause serious harm to health, with the aggravating circumstance of notorious importance, for which, in addition to the prison sentence, it imposes a fine of 213,162.43 euros.

It is considered proven that the defendant, knowing that they were toxic drugs, narcotics, or psychotropic substances, at approximately 11:00 PM on October 25, 2024, transported in a van different quantities of different types of drugs inside two butane gas cylinders with false bottoms.

He was intercepted by agents of the Civil Guard's Fiscal Company at the Port of Huelva while carrying out boarding control of passengers on the ship he was to take from the South Pier of Palos de la Frontera to the Canary Islands.In the canisters, he hid four grams of **heroin**, 2.8 kilos of **hashish** in 200 nuggets and 8 pills; 1.3 kilos of unknown **white powder**; 986.8 grams in a crack package; 1.9 kilos of MMDD in 10 packages, 74 diazepam pills and 47 sinogan pills, as well as a precision scale, small resealable plastic bags, a box containing latex gloves

The seized substances would have reached a total value of 213,162.43 euros on the illicit market.
