The Court of Instruction number 4 of Arrecife has sentenced seven months of fine to the accused of hitting two policemen and several citizens in San Bartolomé.
Civil Guard and Local Police officers arrested the man during the night of August 14 at the San Bartolomé festivities for causing "major disturbances." The convicted man hit several police officers and citizens, and even the mayor who was near the area had to mediate.
The events date back to 00.00 hours of the night in the Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente park, when several citizens alerted the agents to the presence of an individual who was disturbing the order. The man confronted the agents who appeared at the scene and even kicked an agent of the Benemérita who managed to dodge it.
Due to the violence of the detainee, several agents tried to reduce him in a struggle in which he punched a Local Police officer, breaking his glasses and causing injuries to his face. In addition, as La Voz has learned, during the transfer to police headquarters, the man insulted the agents and kicked another of the guards.
In the barracks, he broke the glass of a window of the barracks with two headbutts.
After the celebration of a quick trial, the man agreed and accepted the sentence for the crimes of resistance, two of injuries and another for damages.
In the case of the crime of resistance, he will have to pay a fine of six euros a day for four months; while for each of the two convictions for a minor crime of injuries he will have to face six euros of sanction for 30 days each and the last, six euros for 30 days for the crime of damages.
To this must be added the future compensation as a result of the injuries caused and the payment for the damage to the window of the barracks.
