The former president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote and current number two of the Coalición Canaria (CC) candidacies to the Regional Parliament and the Arrecife City Council, Pedro San Ginés, has asked the Court not to provide any of the parties involved in the case with the content of the devices that were seized from him during the searches carried out by the police in the corruption case that is being investigated in the Arrecife Courts for the alleged illegal appropriation of more than one and a half million of Inalsa's money by Pedro San Ginés' lawyer and friend, Ignacio Calatayud.
This request was made by the private prosecution as a result of a previous request made to the Court by the defense of Ignacio Calatayud, who has also requested a copy of the "dump" (full content) of the devices that were seized from him by the UCO in order to compare the reports issued on their content to include what may be of interest to his defense. The prosecution made the same request to include any incriminating elements that may exist in the seized devices (audios, photos, conversations, texts, emails, etc.).
Faced with such requests, Pedro San Ginés has submitted several writings radically opposing the parties knowing the content of the devices that were seized from him, even threatening the Judge with criminal actions if he agreed to hand over what is in his devices to the Public Prosecutor's Office and other parties involved.
Second recusal to Jerónimo Alonso
Sources close to the case have confirmed to this editorial team that Pedro San Ginés has just filed a new recusal against the Judge of the Court of Instruction No. 2, Jerónimo Alonso, to try to ensure that the case continues under the instruction of Judge Ricardo Fiestras.
This new recusal is the second with which the main defendants in the case are trying to remove the Judge who was responsible for the instruction of the case, since, as will be recalled, Ignacio Calatayud already tried unsuccessfully, with the same being rejected by the Provincial Court of Las Palmas.
