The Sixth Section of the Provincial Court will judge in Arrecife on July 3 a man accused of sexually abusing his partner's daughter, for whom the Prosecutor's Office is requesting seven years in prison, six for a continued crime of sexual abuse and one for a continued crime of exhibitionism. It also requests compensation for the victim of 8,000 euros "for the moral damages caused."
According to the indictment, the events took place "between December 2013 and May 2014", when the accused, who responds to the initials M.R.W, is of British nationality and is 46 years old, lived with his partner in Costa Teguise. The latter's minor daughter lived with them, "who was then nine years old."
On unspecified dates during the indicated period, "taking advantage of the fact that the accused was alone with the minor, and with the intention of satisfying his libidinous desires," he addressed her "saying 'I know what you want, come on, hold it for me,' asking her to grab his penis, with the minor agreeing to do so," the Prosecutor's Office maintains.
On another occasion, the Public Prosecutor's Office states that the accused "asked the minor to undress, while taking a vibrator and putting it in the area of the girl's vagina," "moving it from one side to the other." Likewise, "on several occasions," the defendant "proceeded to show the minor films not suitable for minors and of naked older people" while telling her "to masturbate in front of him, with the minor agreeing to do so," a fact that, according to the Prosecutor's Office, was repeated "between five and seven occasions."
He exhibited his genitals to the minor and touched her
The Public Prosecutor's Office's indictment states that, on another occasion, the accused "lowered his pants, exhibiting his organs to the minor," while telling her "to masturbate in front of him, with the minor agreeing to do so."
"During the indicated period, when they were in the living room of the house," the Prosecutor's Office adds, "the accused asked the minor where the clitoris was" and "lowered his pants, exhibiting his genitals" to the girl, "while lowering her panties and began to touch the minor's genital areas with his finger, indicating that this was the clitoris."
At another time, "on an unspecified date" but "after Christmas" and when the defendant "was in the bedroom he shared with the minor's mother," he took advantage of the fact that "she was asleep, and with the intention of satisfying his sexual desires, he touched the girl's vagina."
Supervised release is requested after serving the sentence
"The accused carried out all these acts taking advantage of the trust and situation he had with the minor, as a result of their age difference and the relationship of kinship by affinity and cohabitation they had," the Public Prosecutor's Office adds in its indictment, which requests a total of seven years in prison for M.R.W., six for a continued crime of sexual abuse and one for exhibitionism.
Likewise, it requests that he be prohibited from approaching the minor "at a distance of less than 200 meters, as well as her home, school or any place frequented by her" and from communicating with her for a period of 10 years.
If convicted, the Prosecutor's Office requests supervised release for the accused after serving the sentence, stating that this will consist of a prohibition from approaching and communicating with the victim for 10 more years; a prohibition from any activity that involves having minors in his custody or care for 10 years; and participation in sexual education programs for pedophiles, also for 10 years.
Similarly, the Public Prosecutor's Office asks that the accused compensate the minor's legal representatives "in the amount of 8,000 euros for the moral damages caused" to the girl and points out that "it is not" appropriate to expel the accused from the country "as he was born in the United Kingdom."
