The Second Section of the Provincial Court of Las Palmas will try a man next week in Lanzarote accused of sexually assaulting his wife's niece in a hotel in Lanzarote.
The events took place in December 2023. The Prosecutor's Office accuses A.D.C.V. of taking advantage of the relationship of trust he had with his niece-in-law and the young woman's interest in learning to give massages to deceive her and get her to go with him to a hotel room.
The accused allegedly deceived her with the excuse that some clients were waiting for him there and that he would teach her to give massages to earn some extra money. However, upon arriving at the establishment, he told her that he would give her a massage first and then the young woman would do the reverse.
The Public Prosecutor's Office accuses A.D.C.V. of, in the middle of the massage, allegedly removing the young woman's underwear against her will, groping her without her consent and against her will, rubbing his private parts against her, and sexually assaulting her. At that moment, the young woman felt completely blocked. Then, he asked her to give him a massage and allegedly forced her to masturbate him.
Since then, the victim has suffered a state of affective lability with a tendency to cry, a component of anxiety and sadness compatible with an anxious-depressive syndrome.
The Prosecutor's Office classifies the events as a crime of sexual assault and requests twelve years in prison and absolute disqualification for the accused for the duration of the sentence.
It also requests that he be prohibited from approaching the victim for thirteen years and that he serve a supervised release sentence for six years after completing his prison sentence. If found guilty, it also requests that he be disqualified for eighteen years from exercising any profession involving minors.
In addition to punitive penalties, it requests that the accused indemnify the victim with 50,000 euros in civil liability.
