The Sixth Section of the Provincial Court of Las Palmas will try next week in Gran Canaria a defendant accused of killing a man after allegedly throwing him headfirst over a railing in a shopping center in Costa Teguise.

According to the Prosecutor's indictment, the accused T.C.K. was allegedly at 3:30 AM on May 28, 2023, in the vicinity of a bar in the Teguise Playa shopping center, in Costa Teguise, when he allegedly began an argument with the victim. The Public Ministry accuses him of grabbing him by the waist and throwing him to the ground over a railing from a height of 4.3 meters. 

After the fall, the victim suffered severe closed polytrauma with head injury and right rib fractures with ipsilateral hemothorax. He also suffered an acute subdural hematoma and brain edema. Finally, the hemorrhagic process extended more intensely and he suffered other hemorrhagic lesions in the skull. The victim also suffered neurological injuries and vascular alterations.

The Public Prosecutor's Office points out that the different pathologies presented by the victim after the blow triggered "a clinical picture of difficult management," from which she ended up dying on May 28, 2023. The accused has been in provisional prison since the day after her death. 

The Prosecutor's Office requests twelve years in prison for the accused and absolute disqualification from the right to passive suffrage during the sentence for a homicide offense. In addition, that he indemnify "jointly and severally" the parents and the deceased's romantic partner with 120,000 euros.
