The Second Section of the Provincial Court of Las Palmas will try a man next week in Gran Canaria accused of threatening a minor with an intimate video if he did not agree to have sexual relations with him.

The case, scheduled to be tried under the Jury Court, anticipates an agreement between the parties, after the accused confessed the facts once the judicial process began and financially compensated the victim for moral damages.

The Prosecutor's Office places the events in the early morning of January 31, 2019, when the accused H.A.E.E. allegedly threatened a 17-year-old minor via Instagram with disseminating an intimate video on social media in which he appeared naked if he did not have sexual relations with him.

As a result of that moment, the minor suffered moral damages such as anguish, fear, bewilderment, discomfort, unease, shame, and rejection. Furthermore, he feared that if he did not comply with the accused's request, he might disseminate his video on different networks.

The Public Prosecutor's Office classifies the events as a crime of conditional threats and requests a sentence of six months' imprisonment for the accused and disqualification from exercising passive suffrage for the same period, in addition to the payment of court costsThe Public Prosecutor's Office has highlighted that the case was stalled for almost three years, between March 2022 and the same month in 2025, for reasons unrelated to the accused.
