Freedom for the young man accused of burning a minor in Gran Canaria: "It was an accidental fire"

After improving, the injured minor was able to testify before the police and her story coincides with that of the investigated and stated that it had been an "accidental fire"

Incendio en La Isleta

The minor who was seriously injured after suffering several burns in the capital city neighborhood of La Isleta on June 16 has stated that the young man arrested was not the cause and that it was "an accidental fire."

The Court of Violence against Children and Adolescents of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria has agreed this Tuesday to revoke the order of provisional imprisonment against the young man, who had initially been accused of his involvement in the injuries of the young woman and has agreed to his provisional release while the investigation continues.

After improving, the injured minor has been able to testify before the police and her story coincides with that of the investigated, who also stated at the time that it had been an accidental fire.

The case is still being investigated, but given this new scenario (which coincides with what the police pointed out in their preliminary reports), the judge opts to lift the precautionary measure of deprivation of liberty.
