The General Directorate of Youth promotes through the Ideo Foundation the program Excelencia Canaria+, an initiative that will reward with a trip of linguistic immersion to Cambridge (England) the academic excellence of 18 students from the Autonomous Community of Canarias. The planned date for the realization of the course will be from August 6 to 20, 2026.
The Director General of Youth, Daniel Morales, explained: “We want to reward the effort made by secondary and high school students in the Canary Islands with a trip to England where they can perfect their English. Along with that experience, they will have a wide range of activities during two weeks in an experience that will serve to improve their academic and life training”.
The prize includes, among others, round-trip ticket, insurance, family accommodation, a general English course, depending on level, of 20 hours of weekly classes, social activities and a full-day excursion and another half-day during the week. In addition, they will have supervision during classes, activities and excursions.
In this call students may participate, of ages between 15 and 17 years, both inclusive, who are residents in the Comunidad Autónoma Canaria, have parental/maternal authorization or legal guardian, and are studying or have studied 3rd or 4th year of ESO or 1st Bachiller in the 2024/2025 school year, obtaining an average academic record grade of eight (8) or those who are currently studying 4th year of ESO, 1st or 2nd year of Bachiller in the 2025/2026 school year.

The deadline for submitting applications will be May 25, 2026, and the draw will take place before a Notary of the Illustrious College of Notaries of the Canary Islands on June 3, 2026.
