The Council of Lanzarote, through the Area of Training and Inclusive Employment, has closed the Mentormind program for businessmen and businesswomen, an initiative aimed at "strengthening the financial skills of entrepreneurs and self-employed of the island and improving the sustainability of their business projects".

The program, which has been developed between October 15, 2025 and March 25, 2026, has had the participation of 28 businesswomen from different sectors, including communication, aesthetics, hospitality, consulting, commerce or specialized services.

The president of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, Oswaldo Betancort, pointed out that this type of program responds to a real need of the island's economic fabric. “It's not just about entrepreneurship, but about knowing how to manage, anticipate, and make decisions with good judgment. Mentormind provides concrete tools to organize finances and consolidate business projects in Lanzarote,” he noted.

For her part, the Councillor for Training and Inclusive Employment, Ascensión Toledo, highlighted that “the second edition has allowed for the continuity of the work started in 2024, incorporating new participants and reinforcing the support for those who had already gone through the program. The results reflect an improvement in the economic organization of businesses and in the planning capacity of the participating individuals.”

Practical training and continued support

Mentormind has been structured into several work blocks. In a first phase, seven training sessions focused on strategic finance were delivered, with the aim of providing participants with a clear and operational system for the economic management of their businesses.

Subsequently, the program incorporated a follow-up phase through mastermind-type meetings, in which participants have jointly analyzed the evolution of their projects, shared experiences, and evaluated decisions from a practical and collaborative perspective.

Furthermore, this edition has included specific reinforcement sessions aimed at participants from previous calls, thus consolidating a business community with continuity over time and spaces for professional exchange.

The initiative has been designed by the economist Vanesa Marrero, head of the School of Economic Tranquility, and has focused on transferring tools applicable to daily business life, with a practical approach adapted to the reality of local businesses.
