The MICROSISTEMAS Integrated Vocational Training Center celebrated a double anniversary last Friday: the Graduation of the 2026 Promotion and the 45th Anniversary of the institution, in an event at the emblematic Monument to the Farmer, which brought together 400 people including students, families, collaborating companies, and authorities.

Institutional Presence

The event, presided over by the General Director of the center, Beatriz Salazar, was attended by the Minister of Universities, Science, Innovation and Culture of the Government of the Canary Islands, Migdalia Machín; the Vice-Minister of Vocational Training and Professional Qualifications, Francisco Rodríguez; the senator for the Canary Islands, Pedro Sanginés; the vice-president of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, Armando Santana; the Insular Councilor Marciano Acuña; and the Councilor of the Arrecife City Council, Elizabeth Merino, among other authorities.

140 New Graduates

A total of 140 students received their degrees in the cycles of Technician in Auxiliary Nursing Care, Higher Technician in Diagnostic Imaging and Nuclear Medicine, Higher Technician in Oral Hygiene, Higher Technician in Dietetics, and Higher Technician in Administration and Finance.

A 45-Year History

During her speech, Beatriz Salazar recalled the origins of the center, founded in 1981 with her husband, Octavio Armas, with a single classroom and "a backpack full of enthusiasm, projects, and a lot of determination." Since then, more than 90,000 students have passed through its classrooms.

The General Director highlighted constancy, adaptability, and lifelong learning as the values that have defined Microsistemas' 45-year trajectory. Drawing a parallel between the 1981 computer revolution and the current development of artificial intelligence, she encouraged the new graduates to face the future with enthusiasm and to see technological changes as an opportunity to continue growing. She also reminded them that training does not end with obtaining a degree and that the center's doors will always remain open to those who, from that moment on, become part of the center's alumni community. The event also included speeches by the promotion's tutor teachers, who shared emotional messages addressed to the students.

Emilio Duró

One of the most outstanding moments of the ceremony was the conference given by consultant and speaker Emilio Duró, who shared with the students an inspiring message about the importance of attitude, resilience, and lifelong learning as fundamental pillars for successfully facing the personal and professional challenges of the future.

Acknowledgement to collaborating companies

The event also wanted to pay public recognition to the collaborating companies and institutions that, with their commitment, contribute each year to the practical training of the students. This tribute highlighted the essential role played by organizations that open their doors to students and strengthen the link between Vocational Training and the business community, fostering preparation aligned with the real needs of the labor market.

Closing with music

Attendees also enjoyed the performance of the prestigious Coral de San Ginés, and the event concluded with the performance of the timple player Toñín Corujo, after which the center offered a celebratory cocktail to all attendees.

After forty-five years of trajectory, Microsistemas continues to consolidate itself as one of the reference Vocational Training centers in the Canary Islands, maintaining intact the vocation with which it was born in 1981: to offer quality training, close to business reality and committed to people.
