Despite the bad tourism forecasts for May that the Lanzarote Tourism Federation (FTL) is handling, and which has caused concern for the summer, the first quarter has once again been a record.
Between January and March a total of 937,940 tourists arrived in Lanzarote, 2.5% more arrivals than during the same period in 2025, which is equivalent to 22,500 more travelers.
The great increase occurred in January, when 309,597 travelers arrived, 12.5% more than the same month last year, when it was 275,232 people.
The growth during the first month of the year was so high that it more than compensated for the fall of 2.2% in February compared to the same month of 2025. This February 302,808 tourists arrived compared to 314,382 the previous year.
In March, when 325,463 tourists arrived, the data were practically identical to last year's.
Now we will have to wait for the data from April and May to see if the employers' forecasts are confirmed, which have detected a slowdown in reservations from the United Kingdom, from where more than half of the tourists who visit Lanzarote come.
