Foreign tourism in Lanzarote falls in April: fewer Britons and fewer Germans compared to last year

Irish and Dutch tourism also decreased, while French tourism remained stable and Italian tourism added a thousand more travelers.

Last April, a total of 233,770 tourists arrived in Lanzarote from foreign airports, which is equivalent to 6.2% less than those who landed in the same month last year, according to data provided by the Canary Islands Institute of Statistics (ISTAC). 

The number of arrivals from airports in the United Kingdom fell the most, with 136,248 tourists coming from there, 6,000 fewer people than last year, when there were a total of 142,244 British tourists. 

In addition, 20,734 German tourists landed in Lanzarote in April, which represents 5,000 fewer tourists from Germany compared to last year when there were 25,851.

Regarding Irish tourism, second in number of arrivals after British tourism (Germany is currently Lanzarote's third foreign market), one thousand fewer citizens have arrived from the green island, going from 31,023 in April of last year to 29,998 last month.

For its part, French tourism practically repeated its figures: there were 16,132 from French airports in April compared to 16,317 in the same month in 2025.

Italian tourism, on the other hand, increased by about one thousand more tourists, going from 6,150 last year to 7,117 arrivals last month. 

The next largest market, the Netherlands, also decreased, from 7,738 arrivals in April 2025 to 7,117 last month.
