The British company Jet2 has chosen Lanzarote as one of the main venues to develop its informative conferences "Partnership for Growth", a meeting aimed at coordinating its operations with hoteliers, villa providers, and institutional representatives of the island. The event in Lanzarote is part of a series of technical meetings that the group has also held in Gran Canaria, Tenerife, and Fuerteventura, in addition to having representation from La Palma.
The meeting held on the island responds to the importance that Lanzarote has in Jet2's network of connections. The company seeks to align its sales plans and joint marketing promotions with the island's business fabric to ensure the flow of British visitors in the coming seasons.
During the conference, group executives—including Jet2's Commercial Director, Adam Mulroy, Sustainability Director, David Neill, and Contracting Director, Andrea MacConnell—explained the keys to the British outbound market to more than 300 attendees across the islands.
Currently, Jet2 is the main tour operator from the United Kingdom in the Canary Islands. According to data provided by the company itself, in 2026 it transported more than 2.5 million passengers to the archipelago, operating 58 routes and up to 278 weekly frequencies in high season. In the case of Lanzarote, Jet2's offering is supported by a wide network of accommodations that are part of the tour operator's global catalog in the islands, comprising about 550 hotels and more than 400 villas.
The economic impact of Jet2's operations in the Canary Islands as a whole is estimated at more than 2.1 billion euros annually, also generating 715 direct jobs on the islands. In 2025, customers who traveled with the tour operator represented more than a third of the total British tourists who visited the archipelago.
Adam Mulroy, Commercial Director of Jet2, highlighted during the meetings that the group's intention is to "consolidate its position as a leading operator to the archipelago," pointing out that this "is only possible through extensive collaboration with local operators" to continue investing in the region's tourism development.
After the work session in Lanzarote and the rest of the islands, Jet2 and local agents will continue with the monitoring tables to finalize joint promotion campaigns and close accommodation contracting agreements for the coming years.
