The hotel rate in Lanzarote rises 4.5% in January, the non-hotel rate, 8.5%

The average hotel rate in Lanzarote reached 144.14 euros per night in January, 4.5% higher than what they charged in the same month of the previous year. 

The total revenue of the island's hotels during the first month of the year exceeded 71 million euros. 

This is evident from the latest Tourist Accommodation Survey from ISTAC provided by the Lanzarote Data Center. 

Meanwhile, the non-hotel accommodation of tourist apartments, which does not include holiday homes, could increase prices by 8.5% compared to last year to 95.23 euros per night. 

The tourist apartments on the island raised 20.8 million euros in the first month of 2026. 

Hotels hosted 170,588 travelers who accounted for almost one million overnight stays in January, while the non-hotel accommodation sector hosted 68,364 travelers who accounted for more than 470,000 nights. 

With regard to employment, Lanzarote's hotels increased their staff compared to January of last year by nearly 500 workers to a total of 10,512 employees.

In tourist apartments, staffing increased by 123 people compared to January 2025, reaching a total of 2,497 employees.
