The Cabildo of Lanzarote celebrates the arrival of the Queen Anne cruise ship to the island, which docked this Thursday in the port of Arrecife. This is the most luxurious ship of the British shipping company Cunard and transports more than 3,000 guests and 1,225 crew members.
Institutional representatives traveled there to receive the crew, welcome them and give a gift to the captain as a sign of gratitude for choosing the island as part of their route.
The president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Oswaldo Betancort, points out that "the arrival of the Queen Anne represents an important economic boost for the tourism business fabric of the entire island." "During its stop in our port we will be able to see how the commercial, leisure and restaurant fabric will increase its turnover thanks to the consumption generated by the more than 3,000 guests who will walk our streets," he adds.
"This type of tourism allows our gastronomic and commercial sector to generate significant benefits without necessarily influencing the massification of spaces, since its passage is brief but effective," considers Betancort, also highlighting "the possibilities offered by cruise tourism when generating income for the sector in a more sustainable way with the environment."
The Queen Anne, of 114,000 tons, has a length of 322.50 meters and offers the opportunity to take excursions and visits to those places where it docks.
