The average rate of hotels in Lanzarote reached 120.9 euros per night in 2023, 6.5% more than the previous year, but almost double the 62.2 euros they charged on average ten years earlier.
The most expensive month of 2023 was August, when the island's hotels earned an average of 144.5 euros per night, followed by December, the month in which they charged 133.1 euros, according to the Lanzarote Data Center based on the "Tourist Accommodation Survey" of the Canary Islands Institute of Statistics (ISTAC).
The largest increase compared to the previous year occurred in November, when rooms were offered at an average price of 128.2 euros, 15.5% more than in the same month of the previous year.
The cheapest months were May and June, in which a hotel room in Lanzarote marked respectively 101.3 and 104.8 euros on average.
June also experienced the smallest year-on-year increase in prices. Rooms were 2.4% more expensive that month than in the same month of the previous year.
The figures contrast with the prices that were paid in 2013, when a hotel room in Lanzarote cost an average of 62.2 euros.
The 67 hotels that were on the island in 2013 collected 272 million euros that year, while the 76 hotels that operated last year achieved 686 million.
