Record hotel revenue in Lanzarote in October: 70 million with fewer tourists and shorter stays

There were 40,000 fewer overnight stays than in October of last year, but the hotel rate rose by 5.2%

The average hotel rate in Lanzarote reached 141.5 euros on average last October, 5.2% more expensive than during the same month last year, according to figures published by the Lanzarote Data Center based on the latest Tourist Accommodation Survey from the Canary Islands Institute of Statistics (ISTAC).

Thus, the island's hotels collected a total of 69.9 million euros last month, 2.3 million more than last year, despite having 40,000 fewer overnight stays than during the same month last year. 

In October 2024, 1.14 million nights were counted, while in October of this year there were 1.09 million overnight stays.  

In addition, there were **3,000 fewer travelers** accommodated than last year, when a total of 186,000 people were accommodated, and they **stayed for fewer days**, 7.29 days compared to 7.45 in October 2024.

The **occupancy** rate also decreased. If last October it reached 88.5%, this year it has dropped to 87.8%. 

Regarding employment, last month the island's hotel staff numbered 10,513 workers, 461 more than twelve months ago.
