The search page for the best prices on flights and accommodation, Jetcost.es, has verified that Puerto del Carmen in Lanzarote, is among the four most sought-after cities in the Canary Islands by national tourists for their July holidays this summer. To do this, it has been based on the analysis of the results of accommodation searches between July 1 and 31, 2023.
In addition, it has not been the only city in the Canary Islands to be part of the ranking, so have: Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Corralejo and Santa Cruz de Tenerife, which are among the 45 most sought after for next month.
And Spaniards continue to crave sun and beach, highlighting these destinations in their searches with 74%, compared to those who prefer inland destinations (26%). Something that could already be seen in 2017, when Puerto del Carmen led as a tourist occupation throughout the year and throughout the Spanish territory, thus achieving the highest level of occupation, with 87.51%, according to a survey by the National Institute of Statistics.
In addition, that same year, Lanzarote also became the destination with the highest occupancy ratio in all of Spain, with 86.64%, according to the INE.
