The César Manrique airport in Lanzarote recorded 825,901 passengers in August, which is 3.6% more than the previous year, according to data provided by Aena.
In all the airports of the Canary Islands, the increase was 5.2% up to 4,730,200 passengers.
Of the total number of travelers registered, 4,703,664 correspond to passengers on commercial flights, of which 2,186,713 traveled on national flights, 6.1% more than in August of last year, and 2,516,951 on international flights, 4.6% more than in the same month of 2024.
In addition, 40,714 aircraft movements were managed, 2.8% more, and 2,618 tons of goods were transported, 3.7% more than in August of last year.
Traffic by airports
The Airport of Gran Canaria registered the highest number of passengers with 1,294,008, which represents an increase of 6.2% compared to August 2024.
It is followed by the Airport of Tenerife South, with 1,110,732 passengers and an increase of 1.1%; César Manrique-Lanzarote, with 825,901 passengers (+3.6%); Tenerife North-Ciudad de La Laguna, with 683,589 (+9.7%); Fuerteventura, with 628,755 (+10%); La Palma, with 138,846 (+0.5%); El Hierro, with 34,086 (-4.1%); and, La Gomera, with 14,283 passengers (+9.2%).
So far this year, the Canary Islands airports have registered 36,401,682 travelers, 5% more than in the same period of 2024.
Of the 36,185,568 commercial passengers, 14,993,983 traveled on national flights, 5.3% more, and 21,191,585 did so on international flights, 5% more than the accumulated in this same period of 2024.
From January to August 2025, 321,755 aircraft movements were managed, 4.7% more than in the past year, and 21,283 tons of goods transported were registered, -1.8% less than in 2024.
