Lanzarote has conquered the family tourism podium in the United Kingdom. The town of Puerto del Carmen has been distinguished as the third best in Europe and the first destination in the Canary Islands in the satisfaction ranking compiled by the British tour operator loveholidays.
The classification, based on the direct ratings of thousands of families from the United Kingdom after their summer holidays, gives the tourist town of Lanzarote a prominent global score of 4.41 out of 5, especially supported by the "quality of its services, its strategic location, and the holiday experience offered".
In the breakdown of categories in the survey, the location of Puerto del Carmen stands out as one of its main attractions, obtaining a 4.56. Very close behind are the overall holiday experience, rated at 4.53, and the service provided by the accommodations, which achieves a score of 4.51.
The cleanliness section in the tourist facilities has been rated at 4.47, while the value for money of the stay earns a score of 4.43. British families rated the facilities of their resort in Puerto del Carmen at 4.28 and the food and drink offering at 4.12.
The Canary Islands have two other towns in the classification. Puerto Rico in Gran Canaria is in fourth absolute position (4.40), achieving the highest score in the entire ranking for gastronomy and catering. For its part, Corralejo in Fuerteventura reaches seventh national position (4.32), standing out for its "dune landscapes and outstanding value for money".
The report certifies the hegemony of the Spanish market, which consecutively occupies the first eight positions in the table. The first destination is Cambrils, on the Costa Dorada, and the second is Santa Ponça in the Balearic Islands. In fifth place, after Puerto Rico, is the Andalusian city of Fuengirola, and in sixth place is Sa Coma, in Mallorca. Benalmádena occupies the eighth position after Corralejo.
The success of the Spanish offering is such that major competing powers in the Mediterranean, such as Turkey and Greece, do not manage to appear on the list until ninth (Antalya) and tenth position (Kiotari).
