The three main reasons why tourists visited Lanzarote during the first quarter of 2026 are the climate, chosen by 74.6% of respondents, safety (60.7%), and tranquility (53.3%), according to the latest report on the visitor profile published by the Lanzarote Data Center.

These three reasons were also the most selected a year ago, but while the climate falls six points from 80.6% last year, safety increases 5.7 points from 55% in the first quarter of 2025 and tranquility increases slightly as last year it was 52.4%.

Next, the accommodation offer was chosen by 45.4% of respondents, which is two points more than a year ago.

The number of tourists who cite price as an important reason for their choice also increased. It goes from 39.3% last year to 41.9% between January and March of this year.

For their part, the percentage of tourists who chose ‘the sea’ fell almost three points compared to last year to 38.2%. Beaches fell 2.4 points to be chosen by 30.4% of respondents. The environmental setting falls one point to 35.9%.

Concepts that have clearly increased are gastronomy, which went from being chosen by 25.4% last year to being selected by 28.1%; and authenticity, which went from 24.3% to 27.4%.

Although they start from much lower percentages, the growth of tourists who indicated the cultural offer, which goes from 10% to 11.5%, and historical heritage, which rises from 9.5% to 11.2%, is also very noteworthy.
