The hotel sector in Lanzarote has consolidated an unprecedented growth path by registering its all-time monthly revenue record in September 2026 with 71.40 million euros.
This achievement represents an increase of 12.51% compared to the 63.46 million reached in September 2025 and far exceeds the mark of 64.03 million euros registered in September 2024, consolidating two consecutive years of economic expansion in the island's accommodation sector.
The financial engine of this milestone has been the sustained revaluation of hotel rates. The average daily rate (ADR) climbed in September 2026 to 147.73 euros per room, which represents a year-on-year growth of 10.44% compared to 133.76 euros in 2025 and an increase of 14.91% compared to the 128.56 euros paid in the same month of 2024.
This repositioning strategy towards a higher value-added model has made it possible to increase revenue despite maintaining a volume of overnight stays and offered rooms similar to previous years.
More than 11,100 jobs
In parallel, the economic activity of hotels has generated a record number of jobs for a September, reaching 11,109 employees hired.
This workforce exceeds by 6.28% the 10,453 workers registered in September 2025 and shows a notable increase of 11.44% compared to the 9,969 jobs in September 2024. This represents a net creation of more than 1,140 direct hotel jobs in just two years, a hiring milestone that has been achieved even operating with one less establishment open on the island.
In terms of demand and operations, hotels accommodated 169,073 travelers in September 2026, exceeding both the 2025 figure (164,799 customers) and the 2024 figure (164,080 customers).
The room occupancy rate stood at a solid 87.36%, slightly increasing from 87.15% in 2025 and consolidating the destination's stability after the 89.83% reached in 2024, which confirms a more efficient, profitable, and job-creating hotel tourism model.
