This Monday, July 21, the association's annual meeting took place, within which this International Club of tourism professionals is framed. During the meeting, the renewal of positions took place, resulting in the election of the Hotel Director, Fernando Benítez González, of recognized professional career on the island of Lanzarote, as president.
The Board of Directors is completed by Abdul Sheriff, 1st Vice President; Antonio Hormiga, 2nd Vice President; Feliciano Díaz, Secretary and Juan Pablo Cabrera Borges, Treasurer.
The SICIO, created after the disappearance of Skal Internacional Lanzarote, brings together professionals who work in tourism and related companies, as well as seniors, whose talent and experience are still useful to the Sector in the islands of Lanzarote, La Graciosa and Fuerteventura. "Having a voice in the institutions and public bodies that govern the island's tourism business is an inalienable duty for its members," they declare.
Currently, the Skal movement includes 15,000 active members in 400 clubs operating in 90 countries. Its mission: to combine professionalism, leadership and friendship to maximize networking and develop a responsible tourism industry.
The first Skal Club was founded in Paris in 1932 and the creation of the International Association of Skal Clubs dates back to 1934.
