Travel agencies have experienced an increase in bookings of up to 15% in Spain to travel during Easter week, especially to the Canary Islands.
According to the tourist news agency hosteltur, the anticipation in bookings and the forecast of good weather are playing a fundamental role and have instilled optimism in the distribution sector ahead of the first major holiday period of the year.
As explained to HOSTELTUR by José Manuel Lastra, executive vice president of CEAV. "The fact that Easter week is celebrated this year 2025 well into the month of April, is an added incentive for holiday bookings for those people who choose this period to make some kind of getaway."
Regarding destinations, Lastra confirms that, at the national level, the Canary Islands lead the preferences, followed by Andalusia and the Balearic Islands, "without forgetting the entire Spanish coast."
Likewise, urban destinations closely linked to Easter week such as Seville, Malaga, Valladolid, and Zamora "have quite high booking levels and an important volume of bookings is being generated in travel agencies, both individually and for groups and organized tours," details the executive.
